Comments from readers:
Sewerins insights into coaching are both profound and inspiring. His astonishing use of the creative arts from King Lear to Matisse to New Orleans jazz serves to instruct the coach and illuminate the coaching process. How many coaches would suggest that the splendid outdated machines in an industrial park can offer clarity into an organizations future, or that a team in crisis can find meaning in an architectural structure? And to this highly original perceptiveness, he adds a clear assessment of a coachs responsibilities, outlines the pitfalls which face the coach, and then empathically uses his own experience in addressing the vulnerability and challenge of the coaching art. This should be required reading for anyone coaching teams and individuals.

I can honestly say, that it is one of the top ten leadership books that I've ever read. Given the three-part organization of the book, I found it very easy to read and the 'story unfolded' easily for me. The "teams, leadership, coaching" basics foundation allowed it to be
focused/grounded (not trying to take on too much). And, I loved the final section - especially the "syncretism" concept. There is so much in the book that I am sure to personally apply. My book is really dog-eared

The book is thus a solid and coherent text that brings powerful insights to the reader in challenging areas. It is well-grounded in both new and established theories as well as state of the art practices, and offers interesting new angles and references.
The book is worth reading also for a self-study purpose because it is written in a highly instructive and pedagocial way. It offers a range of good illustrations that can help the student understand otherwise intricate leadership subjects.
We have used Thomas Sewerin's books in leadership programs and his way of writing always entice the student reader.
