Research about my ancestry opened the door to new knowledge about the tremendous emigration from Sweden and globally before I was born. My awareness led to many questions, such as how people hoping for a better future experience move to countries where they can neither speak the language nor feel secure in the lifestyle they are heading towards. After digging deeper into my memories of my life experience, I realized that language and its primary characteristics exist in many other contexts, such as my nursing profession. I decided to write an autobiography using a modified phenomenological approach to describe and interpret my and other individuals' language difficulties that they experienced due to migration and other interactive contexts.
